The legal sequence in plain language

Working legally in Dubai always follows the same order: signed offer letter, entry permit, medical fitness test, Emirates ID biometrics, residence visa stamping, and finally the labour contract registered with MOHRE. If anyone asks you to start work before the entry permit is issued, pause and verify.

Who is responsible for what

A legitimate employer pays for and processes your work permit, medical, Emirates ID and residence visa. You are responsible for an authentic passport (6+ months validity), attested educational certificates if your role requires them, and police clearance from your home country when requested.

Documents you should never hand over

Never give the original of your passport to a recruiter who is not your employer. Never pay a deposit for a visa, training or uniform. Never sign a contract that does not match the offer letter — request a translated MOHRE-registered copy.
